Aniimo System Requirements: PC Specs, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Mobile & Steam Deck Performance Guide

Aniimo is a free-to-play, next-gen creature-catching open-world RPG from Pawprint Studio and publisher Kingsglory, built in Unreal Engine 5 and set on the continent of Idyll, where you can “Twine” with captured creatures and transform into them to solve puzzles and fight battles. Performance-wise, this is a cross-generation title with a wide hardware spread: the PC minimum asks for a GTX 970 from 2014, while the recommended tier steps up to an RTX 3060. It launched on 16 September 2026 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, with the mobile version arriving on 23 September 2026 for iOS and Android. There is no PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or Switch 2 version.

System Requirements

Minimum (Windows)

ComponentRequirement
OSWindows 10 (64-bit)
ProcessorIntel Core i7-4770 / AMD Ryzen 7 2700
Memory (RAM)8 GB
GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon RX 6600
VRAMNot listed separately; the GTX 970 ships with 4 GB, the RX 6600 with 8 GB
DirectXVersion 11 or 12
Storage40 GB available space, SSD recommended
NetworkBroadband internet connection required
Additional NotesFree-to-play. Cross-platform progression supported.

Source: Tech Yahoo, IXBT Games, and Game8. Last verified: 23 September 2026.

What this means in practice: The minimum tier targets 1080p at 30 to 60 fps on low-to-medium settings. The Core i7-4770 is a 2013 processor and the GTX 970 is a 2014 upper-mid-range card, so this is hardware from roughly twelve years ago. This is an accessible bar for an Unreal Engine 5 open-world game. The 8 GB system RAM requirement is modest, and the 40 GB install size is moderate for an open-world RPG with multiple biomes, creature models, and a floating city hub. An SSD is recommended rather than required. If you have a gaming PC from the last six to seven years with a 4 GB GPU and 8 GB of RAM, you will clear this bar, though you should expect to run the game at lower settings in the busier regions of Idyll.

Recommended (Windows)

ComponentRequirement
OSWindows 10 or later (64-bit)
ProcessorIntel Core i7-10700 / AMD Ryzen 5 5600
Memory (RAM)16 GB
GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 / AMD Radeon RX 6700
VRAM8 GB on the RTX 3060; 10 GB on the RX 6700
DirectXVersion 11 or 12
Storage40 GB available space, SSD recommended
NetworkBroadband internet connection required
Additional NotesTargets 1080p at 60 fps on Ultra settings per Game8. DLSS and frame generation supported.

Source: Tech Yahoo, IXBT Games, and Game8. Last verified: 23 September 2026.

What this means in practice: The recommended tier targets 1080p at 60 fps on Ultra settings. The i7-10700 is a 2020 processor and the RTX 3060 is a 2021 mid-range card. The jump from 8 GB to 16 GB of RAM is the most meaningful change between tiers, and it reflects the game’s memory footprint growing as you load larger open-world regions with more creatures, players, and dynamic weather effects active simultaneously. The 8 GB VRAM on the RTX 3060 is the practical target for 1080p Ultra, and a 6 GB card may struggle in dense areas. If you have a gaming PC from the last four to five years with an RTX 3060 or better and 16 GB of RAM, you will meet this tier comfortably. A trailer released ahead of launch showed the game running at 4K with DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Gen on an RTX 5070, maintaining around 75 fps even without upscaling.

A Note on VRAM and System RAM

The 4 GB VRAM floor on the GTX 970 and 8 GB VRAM on the recommended GPUs tell a consistent story: this is an Unreal Engine 5 open-world game, and UE5 titles are typically VRAM-hungry due to Nanite geometry streaming and high-resolution texture pipelines. You will not be VRAM-limited at 1080p on a 6 GB card, but a 4 GB card will be working close to its limit in the densest environments. The 8 GB system RAM minimum is modest, but the 16 GB recommendation reflects the game’s memory footprint in a persistent online world with other players, dynamic creature spawns, and the “Twine” transformation mechanic running concurrently.

PlayStation 5

ComponentRequirement

Source: Gametimers’ PS5 review, GameMag’s first impressions, Backloggd user review, and PlayStation Store listing. Last verified: 23 September 2026.

What this means in practice: The PS5 version launched on 16 September 2026, but the technical situation is uneven. Gametimers’ review, played on PS5 Pro, noted that while the gameplay loop is engaging, “the technical situation is not yet equally convincing” and there are “several issues that Pawprint Studio will need to continue addressing through updates”. A Backloggd user review was blunter: “Horrendously unoptimised for PS5 especially, some buttons in menus just straight up don’t work at times”. Pawprint Studio has released at least one patch addressing graphical issues, including a widely reported full red screen display error or abnormally red character eyes on certain GPU configurations. The 30 to 35 GB download size is smaller than the PC version’s 40 GB requirement. If you own a PS5, the game is playable, but the launch state was rocky and you should check for post-launch patches before committing.

Xbox Series X|S

ComponentRequirement
FirmwareLatest Xbox system software
Storage30 to 35 GB (digital download, per IXBT)
Performance4K Ultra HD, HDR10, ray tracing, 60 fps+, Dolby Atmos, **Xbox Series XS Optimised**
Additional NotesXbox Play Anywhere supported. Day one on Game Pass Essential, Premium, PC Game Pass, and Ultimate. Online co-op (2-4) and multiplayer (2-100) supported.

Source: Xbox Store listing via ITHome, Game8’s Game Pass guide, and Notebookcheck’s patch coverage. Last verified: 23 September 2026.

What this means in practice: The Xbox Store listing confirms 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, ray tracing, 60 fps+, and Dolby Atmos support, along with Xbox Series X|S Optimisation. The game is available day one on all Game Pass tiers, including Essential, Premium, PC Game Pass, and Ultimate, with subscribers receiving an exclusive monthly pack containing an Aniimod Ultra, 15 Growth Flowers, and 300 Glimmer. Xbox Play Anywhere means a digital purchase grants access on both console and Windows PC. Pawprint Studio has released a patch addressing graphical rendering glitches and quest progression blockers on Xbox Series X|S. The 30 to 35 GB download size matches the PS5 version. If you own an Xbox Series X or Series S, the game runs, and the Game Pass availability makes it a low-risk option for subscribers.

Nintendo Switch 2, PS4, and Xbox One: Not Available

Aniimo is not available on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, PS4, or Xbox One. Game8’s platform guide confirms the supported platforms as PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Android, and iOS only, with Switch 1, Switch 2, PS4, and Xbox One listed as not supported. German outlet Games.ch similarly noted that “Umsetzungen für die beiden Switch-Konsolen sind offenbar nicht geplant” (ports for both Switch consoles are apparently not planned). If you play primarily on a Nintendo console or a last-generation PlayStation or Xbox system, you cannot access Aniimo.

Mobile (iOS and Android)

ComponentRequirement
iOS OSiOS 16 or later (iPhone 11 / A13 or newer)
iOS RAM4 GB minimum; 6 GB recommended
Android OSAndroid 10 or later
Android ProcessorQualcomm Snapdragon 855 / MediaTek Dimensity 1000 or better
Android RAM6 GB minimum; 8 GB recommended
Storage18 GB on Android; approximately 3.5 GB initial download on iOS with additional assets streamed
NetworkStable internet connection required
Additional NotesController support available, but telescopic gamepads and Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons are not supported. Vibration not supported.

Source: MobileMatters, Mein-MMO, SportsDunia, and App-Time. Last verified: 23 September 2026.

What this means in practice: The mobile version launched on 23 September 2026, one week after the PC and console release. The iOS requirement of iPhone 11 (A13) or newer with 4 GB of RAM covers devices from 2019 onward, while the Android minimum of Snapdragon 855 or Dimensity 1000 with 6 GB of RAM covers flagship phones from roughly 2019 as well. The 18 GB storage requirement on Android is substantial for a mobile game, and the iOS version’s 3.5 GB initial download will grow as additional assets are streamed. Note that telescopic gamepads and Switch Joy-Cons are not supported, which limits your controller options on mobile. If you own a flagship phone from the last five to six years, you can run Aniimo on mobile, but you will need to clear storage space first.

Steam Deck

ComponentRequirement
CompatibilityUnknown (Valve’s official rating). The Steam store page lists Steam Deck compatibility as “Unknown.”
PerformancePlayable with manual configuration per community reports and developer acknowledgement. dw-proton update fixes a crash in the lobby menu.
Additional NotesNot officially supported. Requires forced compatibility layer and all graphics sliders set to Low. The handheld’s APU is the limiting factor.

Source: Game8’s Steam Deck compatibility guide, Steam Deck HQ’s dw-proton coverage, Dev.to’s Proton guide, and MetaForge’s settings guide. Last verified: 23 September 2026.

What this means in practice: Aniimo’s Steam Deck compatibility status is Unknown, and the developer has stated they “aren’t aiming for Steam Deck support just yet, but they also acknowledge that it should be possible” with the right graphical configuration. Community reports confirm the game can run on Steam Deck, but it is not a “completely plug-and-play” experience and requires a forced compatibility layer before it will launch at all. A dw-proton update released on 21 September 2026 fixed a crash in the lobby menu. MetaForge’s settings guide states that every graphics slider should sit on Low once the game runs, because the handheld’s APU is the limiting factor, not any single setting. The 40 GB install size will consume a significant portion of the Steam Deck’s internal storage. If you own a Steam Deck and want to play Aniimo, it is technically possible, but expect to spend time configuring Proton and graphics settings manually, and expect a compromised visual experience.

macOS and Linux: Not Available

Aniimo is a Windows-only release on PC. There is no macOS or native Linux version available. Steam Deck users play through Proton, and the compatibility caveats noted above apply. Desktop Linux users can attempt to run the game through Proton, but this is not officially supported by Pawprint Studio.

Final Verdict: Can Your Setup Run Aniimo?

Aniimo is an accessible free-to-play open-world RPG on PC, but the recommended tier’s 16 GB RAM and RTX 3060 requirement is a meaningful step up from the minimum. The minimum spec asks for a Core i7-4770, 8 GB of RAM, and a GTX 970, which is hardware from 2013-2014. The 40 GB install size is moderate, and an SSD is recommended rather than required. If you have a gaming PC from the last six to seven years with a 4 GB GPU and 8 GB of RAM, you can run the game at 1080p and 30 to 60 fps on low-to-medium settings. If you have 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 3060 or better, you meet the recommended tier for 1080p at 60 fps on Ultra settings.

The 8 GB VRAM floor on the minimum GPU is the practical threshold, and a 4 GB card will be working close to its limit in dense areas. The 16 GB RAM recommendation is the most meaningful upgrade path if you want consistent frame rates in busier regions of Idyll.

On console, the Xbox Series X|S version is the most feature-complete, with 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, ray tracing, 60 fps+, and Dolby Atmos support, plus day-one Game Pass availability and Xbox Play Anywhere for cross-platform access. The PS5 version launched with technical issues, including menu buttons that do not function and a graphical bug causing red screens on certain GPU configurations, though Pawprint Studio has released patches addressing these. There is no Nintendo Switch, PS4, or Xbox One version. The mobile version launched on 23 September 2026, requiring an iPhone 11 or newer on iOS or a Snapdragon 855-class device on Android, with an 18 GB storage requirement on Android.

On Steam Deck, the game is not officially supported and requires manual Proton configuration and Low graphics settings to run. It is playable, but not recommended for handheld play at this time.

Specs and performance may be revised by Pawprint Studio in future patches, and the developer has already released updates addressing graphical issues and quest progression blockers since the 16 September 2026 launch. This article reflects the Tech Yahoo system requirements breakdown, IXBT Games, Game8, the Xbox Store listing via ITHome, the PlayStation Store listing, Gametimers, Backloggd, Notebookcheck, MobileMatters, Mein-MMO, SportsDunia, App-Time, Steam Deck HQ, Dev.to, and MetaForge as of 23 September 2026. Chen Xi verifies all specifications by checking official store pages and dating each table; no numbers in this article are estimated or inferred.
